My Parents Look Funny....

Sometimes Hannah looks at us like, "my parents look funny". She must think so considering that she is around only Indians -- until now!!! We have teammates!! Jared and Michelle arrived two weeks ago in Shillong--they are from MO! We have been so blessed by having them here. They probably think that we have been socially deprived because we invite them over every day : )

Anyhow, we thought we would put some more pics of Hannah's life on the blog this morning. We can't wait until she is able to understand these pictures---it will be funny when she asks us "why am I taking a bath in a bucket?" (below)

We went to a training in the boonies about a month ago and they gave us a big bucket to bath Hannah in---she loved it! It was soo hot there--so she enjoyed just sitting in the nice cool water. Below: The lady who hosted us in the village. We were there for 3 days--she loved on Hannah like she was her own child. It was so sweet. The moment we put Hannah in her car seat to drive away, the lady started crying. She had carried Hannah around like this most of the time that we were there. It took a few days later for Hannah to understand that Momma wasn't going to carry around all day.

We also call Hannah our little "zoo animal" because people take pictures of her and touch her all the time. She doesn't seem to mind though--she just smiles and waves (she learned how to wave this week!!).

Hannah's best friend (besides her Daddy and I!)is Rinter. As soon as Rinter arrives home from school she comes to play with Hannah. The convenient thing about this is that Rinter lives in the apartment below our house--so, it's like free baby sitting! Above: Rinter and Hannah hanging out. If you haven't noticed--I will point this out--Hannah is wearing warm clothes in most of the pics. That's because it is nice and cool in Shillong right now. It never gets above 85 degrees. It's raining a lot more these days, which makes the morning time about 50 degrees. It's niiiiiice!
Below: Hannah hanging out with Jamie in the guest bedroom. Jamie is Rinters cousin--who also lives downstairs. We should take this time to explain that Rinter is my (Kari) good friend Lemilla's 11 year old daughter. Lemilla left in April to be with her husband in a state south of here. Her children Rinter (11), Apem (16), and Aleng (15) stay moved below us. They are like our family--we love them to pieces and so does Hannah.

Pink eye has hit...Hannah woke up with pink eye this morning. It was so sad. She has the longest eyelashes, so it took about 10 minutes to get all the gunky off her. It doesn't look so bad in the pic below...but, trust me it was pretty disgusting.
