The Joys of New Life

A New Year and the beginning of a NEW LIFE IN CHRIST in a woman whose name is Diya! Yesterday at a medical camp, my friend and former prostitute Manju, brought her friend (a current fly prostitute) to speak with me and my national partners. I had met this woman once before, three weeks ago, to have open discussion about how women get involved in fly prostitution here. I remember she said very little during our meeting, but definitely expressed that her desire was NOT to be doing what she was doing. As we sat down yesterday to discuss some questions she had, her heart was broken over her life. She explained how she became a prostitute and how she knows that this is sin that she can not live with and she wants forgiveness from the One True God. My heart rejoiced! No one can offer her a new life, other than the GIVER OF LIFE. She understood that becoming a believer of Christ doesn't mean more money, more things, or even a better life...she understood it means forgiveness and ETERNAL LIFE...a new life. Praise the Lord!
Below is a picture of Manju, the woman who first came to know Christ, and behind her is Diya.

She will now join the church that has begun in Manju's home and be discipled by my national friend, Pinky. We need to pray that she will find a job as she wants to leave prostitution. On January 5th Manju, Pinky and I will be meeting with other fly prostitutes (we have no idea how many) to discuss ways to get out of prostitution and find jobs that God created them to do. Pray that this will be a fruitful meeting...it was their (the fly prostitutes) idea to meet and they would like to meet once a month. I am so excited about this opportunity!
This makes three women now...with thousands more to go...pray that these women who have come to Christ will be the laborers in the harvest needed to reach so many women. Pray that churches will begin and the Gospel will spread because of their testimonies!
