Our Sweet Anniversary

Our four year anniversary was celebrated on October 12th in the same place where we got engaged, Darjeeling, India! It was wonderful!!! We spent time at the home where Nathan proposed, then we ate lunch in the little momo shop where we planned our wedding, then we went to the zoo!!! It was a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary!













We have some teammates who are also living in Darjeeling and we spent time fellowshipping and encouraging them. This was a great time for us! We took one of them on a hike up into the mountains to get out of the city and into a quiet place....this was a sweet time for all of us!

We had a wonderful time hiking...however, it was difficult on one particular day. We had hiked for 4 hours and came to village where we could have some lunch...but, the Lord had other plans! We met a family who had a young son who could not walk...so prayed over that young man and presented the family with the Good News. It was a wonderful time to watch two young girls from India who were with us tell how they had come to know the Lord...they shared their faith with boldness! As we left the village we realized that we had not eaten lunch and none of us had anything to snack on. The thought of not having food wasn't too bad until 6 hours later and we hadn't reached the summit! By the time we reached the top and found a place to stay we were all about to die : ). The picture of Prem wrapped up in my pink shawl shows how cold and miserable we were!!! The next few days were a great blessing though and God blessed our efforts!!! Praise Him!!!

As we were out hiking we were reminded daily of the lostness of people around us. We would see these Buddhists prayer flags....they believe that every time the flag waves it sends up prayers. We pray that one day they will some day know the one true God and instead of flags being their means of lifting up prayers, they will be praying directly to Lord of Creation, the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords!!! Pray with us for the Buddhists and Hindu peoples of Northeast India!
